INTRODUCTION
I’m not sure who came up with the title for this oddly named Shemale porn website, but in the long run, I guess it really doesn’t matter what the site is called, right? Tranny Box is one of those sites that I’ve heard a lot about but haven’t had the chance to really get down and give it a good going over until recently. The site has built a solid reputation within the industry for featuring some very high profile Shemale Pornstars as well as having a good mixture of Brazilian Shemale and Ladyboy content as well.
Let’s take a little peek into the Tranny Box and see if this site plays by the rules or likes to color outside the lines. From what I’ve seen so far, it looks as though Tranny Box may be correct in having the tagline, ‘All The Hottest Tgirls In One Place’…
SITE DESIGN AND NAVIGATION Tranny Box is a site that has a whole bunch going on as far as the design and navigation elements go. One of the things that I found slightly annoying was the ‘pop-up’ ad that comes up when you first visit the public pages of Tranny Box. In this day and age, when just about everyone is suspicious of pop-ups, I just find it unnecessary, especially when the pop-up basically says the same thing as the page that you’re already on.
With that out of the way, I love that Tranny Box is designed for larger screen monitors, something that is becoming more and more vogue. I think the days of designing for 800×600 or even 1024×768 screens are gone. If you’re not designing with 1600×1200 resolutions in mind these days, in my opinion, you’re really doing a disservice to the vast majority of computer users today. However, that may just be because I have two 1920×1080 monitors at home that I work on so I may possibly be a bit biased. Tranny Box looks great, and that is the bottom line. The site designers chose a pleasant combination of blues and blacks as colors, and with only a few ‘moving’ pictures decorating the site, there isn’t much to distract your eyes from the beautiful models dotting the page.
Navigational elements are a little bit strange with lots and lots of links throughout the page. I always find it a little bit odd when sites have so many links on a page that all lead to one place, typically a ‘join’ page. Such is the case here, and I think a better method is just to employ a navigation bar so users can check out the site and get in quickly if they so desire. I found the only placement of the ‘Members’ entrance link in the upper right hand corner weird too. If there is one thing that you DON’T want, it is for someone who has just joined to have to search around for that link… In my mind, it would service Tranny Box to make it a bit more prominently placed.
MEMBER’S AREA
As with the public pages, the Member’s Area of Tranny Box is also pretty busy. I like the ‘blog’ format that greets Members logging in for the first time, and the sidebar navigation in addition to a navigation bar helps make things easier. Still, there are so many links all over the place that I found it to be overwhelming and confusing, and I consider myself to be pretty computer savvy. I think one of the problems that Tranny Box runs into is just how much content they have and how to break it down into categories that Members of the site can search for and find. I don’t think they’ve quite come up with the best method for displaying their content right now, but it is a good start.
Updates on the main Member page of Tranny Box aren’t dated so that might be off-putting to some, who like to know that they are getting the ‘latest and greatest’ content. However, the main column is titled ‘Latest Updates’ so I guess you can just take their word for it! There’s a lot more I could say about the way the Member’s Area is put together, but I’m going to leave off for brevity’s sake and just say, I found it moderately confusing to navigate the vast amounts of content Tranny Box features.
PHOTO CONTENT
Quickly approaching 50,000 pictures on the site, Tranny Box clearly has enough photo content to keep even the fastest browser busy for some time. Galleries can be browsed via a ‘photosets’ section of the site, although clearly, Tranny Box doesn’t place much value on pictures since most galleries are only between 20-100 pictures, which is pretty small compared to most other ‘mega-sites’. You can browse galleries via thumbnail pictures or download the entire set to your computer for viewing at your pleasure.
I’m not a huge fan of the Flash-based viewer that Tranny Box employs for viewing individual pictures. Mostly I find it strange that although the resolutions of a lot of the pictures are quite higher, the viewer only displays them at around 900x1200px. So, if you want to see the pictures at their highest resolution, you should download the ZIP file of the gallery. As far as quality goes, Tranny Box has some of the most gorgeous pictures of today’s Shemale Pornstars that you’ll find anywhere. With some really lush backgrounds for some galleries, clearly, when it wants to, Tranny Box can put together some really great pictures.
VIDEO CONTENT
I’ve already stated that Tranny Box doesn’t seem to place a lot of emphasis on creating photo content so naturally, you’d think that it would place more emphasis on the video content. This is perhaps the most puzzling thing that I found when writing this review of Tranny Box. I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why they have a ‘Photosets’ section, but no devoted ‘Video Content’ section, especially since the video content on Tranny Box (when you can find it) is quite good.
Tranny Box features videos that can be streamed or downloaded as high resolution or low resolution WMV files. Some newer videos are also available in MP4 formats for mobile viewing. Videos downloaded remarkably fast, at around 3.5MB /second so that is a great point for those of you with broadband connections. Overall, Tranny Box has some really, really great video content featuring both solo and hardcore scenes, but suffers from some usability issues in regard to getting to it.
JOINING TRANNY BOX Tranny Box is $29.95 for 30 days access, which I assume is recurring. The site really doesn’t state easily whether charges are recurring or not, so if you’re interested in just one ‘section’ of membership, just make a note to cancel your subscription before you incur a recurring charge. You can also join for $44.85 for 90 days access or a full year for $99.95. Clearly, if you’re looking for a long-term membership, it pays to purchase the yearly subscription. Tranny Box also offers a 1 day, $1.95, full access trial option, although again, does not state at what price it recurs when that day expires.
CONCLUSION AND SITE OVERVIEW Tranny Box has some of the best content featuring some of today’s top Shemale Pornstars that you’ll see. The hardcore videos are awesome and most of the photo content is quite stunning. Tranny Box falls short with some navigational elements, making it confusing and difficult to access the content you want to view, especially specific videos. Still, if content is King, Tranny Box will really make you quite happy.
My bottom line… Tranny Box is likely the most diverse site around that features American Shemale Pornstars, well-known Ladyboys, and Brazilian Shemale Pornstars all in one place. The site is truly a ‘one stop shop’ when it comes to Shemale porn and has a vast amount of content supporting that claim. Despite some design and navigational choices that I don’t personally agree with, Tranny Box will likely keep you very, very occupied during your Membership term.

I was privileged with an inside look at Shemale.XXX right as it launched and I have to say, Grooby Productions really nailed it with this one. Let’s take a closer look at the new Shemale.XXX and see just how this site stands up against the other Shemale Mega-Sites out there.
SITE DESIGN AND NAVIGATION
I should probably just issue a blanket statement to say that from now on, all Grooby Productions sites get a pass on this section of the review. I think after, what… fifteen sites now, they’ve got a pretty good handle on site design and navigation, and Shemale.XXX certainly puts the punctuation on that sentence perfectly. Quite honestly, I really don’t have anything negative to say about the design and navigation of Shemale.XXX. The design is beautiful and the dark colors are easy on the eye. Design elements are beautifully rendered and navigation is linear and straightforward.
Clearly, Shemale.XXX is the pinnacle of a lot of great ideas and concepts from the designers over at Grooby Productions, and to them I can only say, ‘Hat tip!’
MEMBER’S AREA
Like I said in the previous section, Shemale.XXX looks to be the culmination of all those years of effort that Grooby Productions put into creating awesome Shemale sites. The Member’s Area of Shemale.XXX is phenomenal, with lots of great little extras built into it that you wouldn’t really expect or notice, because there are few sites doing it, especially in the Shemale niche. I think with Shemale.XXX, Grooby Productions has once again flexed its muscle and shown why it is the King of this genre.
Looking at Shemale.XXX, it makes me wonder sometimes what goes into the minds of the designers of other Shemale sites. Shemale.XXX is so simple and yet so effective, which demonstrates that you don’t need flashy, blinky lights everywhere to have a creative and pleasant looking design. At Shemale.XXX, you’ve got a simple page with all the updates at your fingertips, which you can easily browse. Sets are clearly split into photos and videos, complete with dates and descriptions.
Some of the things that I think helps make Shemale.XXX so effective in its presentation are the different ways you can choose to navigate around the Member’s Area and access the content. Shemale.XXX has an excellent database function that makes it really easy to search the models using a variety of user inputted methods. Once you find a girl that really gets your blood pumping, you can add her to Your Portfolio so you never have to do that search again. She’ll be waiting there for you every time you login. I think it is little things like this that helps make Shemale.XXX a pleasure to browse.

I’ve long thought that Grooby Productions employs some of the best photographers in the Shemale porn world, and you can find a set or two from just about all of them at Shemale.XXX. I think it is this variety in shooting styles that really makes Shemale.XXX work well. Different photographers enjoy shooting from different angles and using different settings on their cameras. This variety helps keep the photo galleries fresh, and I just love seeing the different colors and settings that the photographers on Shemale.XXX use. Photo content is updated about 4-5 times per week so there is plenty of content to keep you busy!
As is to be expected, photo quality on Shemale.XXX is top-notch. Galleries are organized well and most are generously sized with about 125-150 pictures in each set. As expected, you can download each gallery as a ZIP file for home viewing, or you can view the gallery as a slideshow right in your browser. If you fancy yourself a critic, you can post comments (read: compliments) on the set and even add your own tags to the gallery which will help others find the material in the future. Most other Grooby Productions sites tend to focus on one aspect of the Shemale niche, take Ladyboy-Ladyboy, Black-Tgirls, and Brazilian-Transsexuals for example. I think one of the things that is making Shemale.XXX immensely popular is the inclusion of all these girls into one site. Let’s face it, in this day and age, when we’re becoming more closely tied together with our brothers and sisters in Humanity, inclusion is all the rage. I understand the point of view that some guys really prefer one look over another, but I find the ‘one stop shopping’ aspect of Shemale.XXX to be really great.

I don’t feel that I’ve really even had the chance to accurately describe Shemale.XXX in the short space I have here, but I hope you get the idea.

I met Brittany St. Jordan at the 2010 Tranny Awards, where she was nominated in the Best Up & Cummer category. The index page of Brittany St. Jordan’s Official Site has a clever background that stays stationary while the foreground moves when you scroll. For some silly reason, I found this completely entertaining… maybe because of the gorgeous pictures of Brittany St. Jordan seated there and welcoming you to her site. Once you actually ‘enter’ the site, you’re taken to what is probably more of a familiar ‘tour’ page, containing introductory text and pictures. I was a little bit surprised that there were no preview videos, but there are plenty of great pictures of Brittany St. Jordan that should entice you forward.
As far as design elements go, the site contains some small things that may be a bit distracting. The link text is definitely striking, but possibly difficult to read, especially at a glance, and links seem to be a little randomly placed. Small things, I know, but since this is an honest review, those were my first impressions. Brittany’s logo, which is arguably one of the most important design elements on a site, tends to get lost set against the splash picture… which I guess says something good about the picture, right? Anyway, once you get beyond those picky things, it is nice to see a site being developed with some personality to it!

The Member’s Area of Brittany St. Jordan’s Official Site has a familiar layout to those of you who have joined Grooby sites in the past. The Welcome Page is set in a blog format, with the main body being a place for Brittany to showcase updates and candid pictures from her personal life. I really like these candid pictures, which you really don’t get to see very often, so I really hope she’ll continue posting them. Navigation around the Member’s Area is done through one sidebar on the right hand side. From there you can reach all the different areas of Brittany St. Jordan’s Site, including Latest Scenes, and Bonus Content.
I found myself constantly looking for a Navigation Bar along the top of the site, as most all the other Grooby Productions sites have, but I soon got used to the format here. Clearly, Brittany St. Jordan wasn’t one to just have the ‘cookie cutter’ site that she probably could have opted for, and I think that serves the purpose of giving her site character.

Photo content on Brittany St. Jordan’s Official Site are organized into galleries with short titles giving you a description of the set. Galleries vary in length but most are going to be between 100 and 150 pictures. Photographing Brittany St. Jordan has got to be one of the easiest things in the world. She is just gorgeous, and has an easygoing smile that can really light up a room. There is a good mixture of solo and hardcore content, and galleries can be downloaded as ZIP files as well as viewed as individual pictures.
I’m not sure who the photographer is for Brittany St. Jordan’s Site, but he or she definitely knows their way around a camera. The pictures are really beautiful, with many being downright stunning. Brittany St. Jordan really likes to have a wide variety of outfits and scenes for her sets, but I think she must love dressing up in sexy lingerie… which is good because I definitely like seeing her in it!

Download speeds were pretty snappy, at an average of around 400KB/s, making for around 5 minutes for each video.

There is no doubt that Brittany St. Jordan is one of today’s most exciting and beautiful Shemale Pornstars. Brittany has a personality that comes through into her site, and I think Members will really enjoy getting to know her more as her career progresses. It’ll be interesting to see how this new GroobyGirls Network progresses, but they couldn’t have chosen a better performer to anchor the network. Brittany has obviously put a lot of work and effort into creating her new home on the web, and we wish her all the success in the world for this new venture!
My bottom line… I’ve made no secret that I admire Brittany St. Jordan, both for her beauty and her brains. It takes a lot of guts to strike out on your own, even with the backing of a company like Grooby Productions and the GroobyGirls Network. Brittany has a true desire to create something special for her Fans and Admirers to enjoy and I think her site largely succeeds.

Of course, Grooby already has a pretty good foothold in the niche with Black-Tgirls, and most all other sites also feature Black Shemales on occasion. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at Black Shemale Hardcore and see if we can determine what makes this site different from Black-Tgirls and the other Shemale sites out there featuring Black Transsexuals.

Clearly, Grooby Productions has a pretty good handle on site design and navigation after creating over 15 sites to date. So, I’m not going to go into too much depth going over that in this section. Suffice to say, the design and navigation of Black Shemale Hardcore follows the other Grooby Productions sites, and as expected, it is easy on the eyes and easy to navigate around.
MEMBER’S AREA
By now, chances are, if you’re a Fan of Shemales, you’ve probably joined a Grooby Productions site recently. Black Shemale Hardcore doesn’t have any big surprises in store for Members, and past Members of Grooby Productions sites will find the Member’s Area to have that old familiar feeling. Upon logging in, you’re taken to a blog-like welcome page that brings you all the latest updates in chronological order. That’s great for when you don’t have the time to be searching around for the latest updates. When you need a quick fix of Black Shemales, this is where you’ll come to find out what’s new and exciting on the site. Again, nothing really new or groundbreaking here, just the good, solid design that you’ve come to expect from sites from Grooby.
PHOTO CONTENT Black Shemale Hardcore features a mixture of exclusive content shot specifically for it, along with non-exclusive scenes from other Grooby Productions sites featuring Black Shemales in hardcore action. I think it is pretty cool that a company like Grooby Productions listens to its Fans and created this site specifically in response to requests. I suppose that the big draw here is that all the action is hardcore, so if solo scenes tend to bore you, Black Shemale Hardcore is a site that you’ll love.
Like I said before, Black Shemale Hardcore has scenes and sets from the other Grooby Productions sites, so if you happen to be a Member of a site like Black-Tgirls, you may run into some duplicate content. That being said, I do think it is nice to see some of the older sets from other sites pop again as ‘new’ here at Black Shemale Hardcore. It can be pretty easy to forget girls and sets as time goes on because sites like Black-Tgirls and Brazilian-Transsexuals update so frequently, and with a fair bit of content.
As expected, the exclusive content at Black Shemale Hardcore is high quality, and as you can tell from the pictures here, clearly the Grooby photographers know how to capture their girls. Galleries can be viewed as thumbnails and downloaded as ZIP files. You can also view each gallery via slideshow for those times when you’d prefer to be hands-free. I think what the real ‘gold’ here is on Black Shemale Hardcore, is that you get quality hardcore content on a regular basis, instead of having to wait for the occasional set to come out like you do on other non-exclusive Black Shemale sites.

As with the photo content, Black Shemale Hardcore contains a variety of content. Some is taken from other Grooby sites featuring Black Shemales and some is shot exclusively for the site itself. One of the things that I really never paid attention to is just how many lovely Black Shemales there are in Brazil… some of the best non-exclusive videos in my opinion, are those featuring some of the girls from Brazilian-Transsexuals.
Grooby has never had a problem with download speeds so viewing the videos on Black Shemale Hardcore was pretty snappy. All the video content is hardcore; however, unlike some of the other Grooby sites that feature fairly large weekly updates, they’ve limited the video update to one per week. Still, with a massive library to draw from, I think Members of Black Shemale Hardcore should find themselves with plenty of great video content to keep their hands busy!

CONCLUSION AND SITE OVERVIEW Black Shemale Hardcore is really going to appeal to those Fans of the genre. If Black Shemales are what really gets your blood pumping but solo sets make you yawn, this is a site that is specifically tailored for you. Grooby Productions knows how to put together a quality experience for Members of their sites and Black Shemale Hardcore delivers as expected. You may run across some content that you’ve seen before on other Grooby sites, but honestly, I don’t really think that matters too much, after all, surely you watch movies or videos over and over again, especially if you find one that you really enjoy!
My bottom line… Black Shemale Hardcore is a solid site, as expected, and delivers a feature rich experience that Fans of Black Transsexual porn are going to really enjoy.
Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl may just be one of the best independently owned sites that you may have never heard of… which is a shame! As any independent site owner will tell you, owning and operating your own site is quite a tall order, and Krissy does everything herself… from the shooting to the editing, and site creation. I think that’s pretty cool, and after chatting with Krissy on numerous occasions, I think it is about time that we see what Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl has to offer Members of her Official Site.
Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl recently signed on as one of the sites in the new UP Network, which is a small network of sites that caters to Ladyboys, as well as a few other upcoming Shemale Pornstars. This change hasn’t seemed to affect the site itself in any way, which leads me to believe that Krissy still owns and operates the site as a separate entity.

I’ve been checking in on Krissy’s site now for quite some time, in fact, probably ever since it went up in 2006′ish! Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl has undergone more than a few transformations over that time period as far as design goes, but has stayed the same basic colors of blacks and pinks throughout. From what I understand, Krissy does do all the HTML herself so I think the changes reflect periods when she has some extra time on her hands and wants to spruce things up a bit. Recently it seems, Krissy had an outside company do some page creation for her, which I think really helped bring some cohesion to her site’s look.
There is quite a bit of stuff going on at the public pages of Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl. The site is designed in a linear, table format, which does make things easy to navigate, although you could make the argument that things look a little bit cluttered. There is plenty of free content to check out on those public pages though, from some video previews to pictures to a short (and interesting) biography. Clearly, although Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl lacks some of the ‘razzle dazzle’ of other solo Shemale sites maintained by larger companies, she has put a lot of thought and work into making her site easy on the eyes and easy to navigate.

The Member’s Area of Krissy4u – Naughty Asian Tgirl is built around a blog format, which may or may not make things easier for you to navigate, depending on your familiarity with blogs and how they operate. Myself, being pretty familiar with it, found the sidebar navigation fairly easy to work with. Updates occur every Wednesday and are usually between 2-4 picture galleries and 1 or 2 videos… which is actually quite a bit for an independently operated site like this.
